Beyond 24 (Android app and web version)
Published by an individual developer under the Google Play developer name “thunderj” and the DWonNut brand
1. Acceptance
By installing, opening or playing Beyond 24, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the game and uninstall it. These terms apply to the Android app distributed through Google Play and to the web version at dwonut.com/games/beyond24.
How we handle personal data is described separately in the Privacy Policy. Where the law requires consent for advertising or similar processing, that consent is asked for in the app and is separate from accepting these terms.
2. Who can use Beyond 24
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Beyond 24. The game is not intended for children under 13.
- If you are between 13 and the age of majority where you live, use the game only with permission from a parent or guardian where the law requires it.
- If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we will delete it. You can also report it to [email protected].
3. Your account and Recovery Key
- An account is created automatically on first launch. It is not tied to an email address or phone number: what restores it is the pair of your UserID and the 32-character Recovery Key. The UserID alone has no authentication power and can neither sign in to nor delete an account.
- One device session is active at a time. After a reinstall or on a new device, only the UserID and Recovery Key pair gets you back in. Recovering the account revokes the previous device’s session immediately. Scores imported from a local save are shown for reference and never enter leaderboards, rewards or unlock checks.
- You can rotate the Recovery Key at any time from the account screen; the old key stops working at once.
- If you lose both the Recovery Key and a usable device, we cannot recover the account and cannot delete it for you. There is no email on file, no “forgot password” path, and a UserID, nickname, device model or high score is not proof of ownership. Starting a fresh account is always available.
- Keep your Recovery Key private. Anyone who has your UserID and key can take over the account. Do not send the key to us by email or share it with other players.
- Accounts are for personal use. Do not sell, transfer, share or mass-register them.
4. Gameplay, scoring and fair play
- Questions, answer validation and settlement are computed on the server. The server record and clock are authoritative, and each submission carries its own id so a retried request cannot be rewarded twice.
- To keep leaderboards from being farmed, the server rate-limits account creation, recovery, key rotation, deletion, room actions and score settlement across IP address, presented credential and failed guesses. Limits target request behaviour, not individuals.
- We may correct data corrupted by a defect or by abuse (for example diamonds or scores granted in error), keeping such corrections as narrow as possible.
- Leaderboards and scores are for the game only. They do not represent any real-world achievement, and we do not promise that a score or rank will be preserved forever if the game’s modes or seasons change.
5. Diamonds, check-ins and rewards
- Diamonds are a gameplay counter earned through daily check-ins and daily-challenge results, and spent on creating online rooms. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and cannot be bought, sold, gifted or transferred between accounts.
- Beyond 24 does not currently sell diamonds or other items for money. If paid items are ever introduced, the store will show the price and the applicable store terms will also apply.
- We may adjust reward amounts or room costs as the game develops, and will note material changes in release notes. We may reverse diamonds or rewards obtained through a defect, an exploit or a failed payment.
- Loss of an account under section 3 also means loss of its diamonds and rewards. Nothing in this section limits any refund or remedy you have under mandatory consumer law or app-store rules.
6. Ads and rewarded ads
- In the Android app, ads are served by Google AdMob and we do not curate the creative. If you see something inappropriate, tell us at [email protected]. The web version has no ads.
- Banner ads may appear on the home, level, leaderboard and account screens. A rewarded ad may be offered in the wrong-answer dialog to reveal a solution. Watching it is optional: if no ad is available, the solution is offered without an ad, and core play never depends on an ad loading.
- Where required, Google’s consent tools ask for your advertising choices; you can change them later through the in-app Ad privacy options entry or Android Settings → Google → Ads.
- Google’s own terms and privacy policy apply to the ad service. See the Privacy Policy for the data involved.
7. User content and messaging
- There is no chat and no messaging. Neither the Android app nor the web version lets you send text, images, audio or files to another player. There is no user-generated content feed, no comments and no direct messages.
- There is no free-text profile field: nicknames come from a built-in word list and you can only pick another generated nickname.
- The only text you submit while playing is a math expression, plus a room code or your Recovery Key if you use those features. An expression is used to check your answer; it is not published to other players and is not kept as part of your account history.
- Do not use the service to harass, threaten, impersonate, spam or break the law through nicknames, expressions, room codes or any other input. We may rate-limit or restrict access if input is abused, and we can remove accounts that do so.
- If we ever introduce messaging, we will update these terms and the Privacy Policy first, and we will provide reporting and blocking tools before it is switched on. Nothing in this section promises a feature that does not exist today.
8. Acceptable use
Subject to these terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Beyond 24 for personal, non-commercial play. This licence ends if you materially breach these terms or if the service is discontinued.
- Allowed: play normally, study puzzles offline, report problems, and delete your own account at any time.
- Not allowed: scripts or automation to farm submissions, diamonds or leaderboard positions; modifying or reverse-engineering the app to bypass scoring or rate limits; scraping or republishing the puzzle bank or level data; interfering with the service or other players; impersonating another account; or using the service to break the law.
- The puzzle bank, levels, artwork, name and software belong to the developer. Screenshots and non-commercial discussion are welcome with attribution; wholesale copying of the puzzle bank or level data is not.
9. Third-party services
Beyond 24 relies on services provided by others, including Google Play (distribution and app billing, if ever used), Google AdMob (advertising in the Android app), Cloudflare (website delivery and security) and our hosting provider (server and database). Their own terms and privacy policies apply to their part of the service. We are not responsible for their independent acts, but we choose and configure them as described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Availability and changes
- The product runs on a single server maintained by an individual developer. We try to keep it online but do not promise 24/7 availability; incidents, maintenance and migrations can cause short outages.
- Gameplay, difficulty, gates, rewards or the ad model may change, and we will note material changes in release notes or in the app. We do not promise that a particular feature, level, mode or ad-free experience will remain available indefinitely.
- The core single-player game is intended to remain playable, but no feature is guaranteed forever. If the service is discontinued, we will announce it in the app and the store listing with reasonable notice and handle stored data as described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Progress and data loss
- Server-side progress and scores are kept until you delete your account, subject to the retention rules in the Privacy Policy. Local data can be lost if you clear app or browser data, uninstall, change devices, or lose the device.
- If you reinstall or move to a new device without your UserID and Recovery Key, the old account cannot be restored. Imported local scores are not eligible for leaderboards or rewards.
- We are not liable for loss caused by your device, browser, operating-system backup behaviour or loss of your Recovery Key, except where mandatory law provides otherwise. We recommend keeping the Recovery Key somewhere safe.
12. Disclaimer and liability
The software is provided “as is”, without warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from use of, or inability to use, the software; where liability attaches, it is capped at the amount you actually paid for the product, which for a free product is typically zero.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any mandatory consumer rights you have in your country. Some jurisdictions do not allow parts of the limitation above, in which case the remaining parts apply and local law prevails.
13. Suspension and termination
- You may stop using the game at any time and may delete your account in the app or on the deletion page with your UserID and Recovery Key. Deletion takes effect immediately and cannot be undone; a limited deletion-request record and backup copies are handled as described in the Privacy Policy.
- We may suspend or restrict access for cheating, leaderboard farming, attacks on the service, harassment, impersonation or other serious breaches, with reasonable notice where possible. Suspension is not deletion: a suspended account can still be deleted by its owner through the channels above.
- If we terminate the service or your access, the sections that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers and liability) will continue to apply.
14. Changes to these terms
We publish changes on this page with a new “last updated” date. If a change is material, we will also note it in the app or the store listing. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms; if you do not agree, stop using the game and delete your account. Changes do not apply retroactively to disputes that arose before the change.
15. Disputes and governing law
These terms do not select a governing law or require arbitration. If a dispute arises, contact us first at [email protected] so we can try to resolve it informally. Mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live continue to apply, and nothing here prevents you from using a consumer-protection body or court that the law makes available to you.
16. Contact
[email protected] — for data-rights requests, ad issues, abuse reports and bug reports. Email is not a channel for deleting or recovering an account: we will not act on a UserID, nickname, Recovery Key or score quoted in mail, because anyone could send those. Use the in-app account screen or the deletion page instead. Never email your Recovery Key.
